The garden’s continuation as a beautiful, publicly accessible natural space and community resource is dependent on the many and varied contributions of it’s volunteers. Its important connecting role in the local landscape and its rich and biodiverse habitats play a leading role in setting a hugely beneficial urban nature and wildlife agenda, as well as helping to protect wider eco-systems, from our inland landscapes along the river to the sea.
This enrichment works both ways. The satisfaction and fulfillment of helping innovative and progressive projects succeed within a brave and supportive community is something which is treasured by those who take part, with whatever level of time, resources and skills they can offer.
Success depends upon a range of skills, from ‘being’ there for a small mammal, plant or insect (or a human someone) to ‘being’ a scientist, or provider of refreshments for a working group to celebrate that moment of satisfaction and achievement.
So how do we help those skills and resources get to where they are needed?
We simply ask that you get in touch and let us know if you have an idea about what you would like to contribute, or that you join a working group or volunteer day to help out, and so maybe see for yourself what is required.
We use email to organise in the first instance. By subscribing to a newsletter or joining a group you will hear about what’s going on, what resources are needed and other opportunities to get involved. Your level of commitment is up to you. So much can be achieved with your help!
Come along to a volunteer event, join a group, or drop us a line using our contact form – see you soon!
