Join entomologist Joss Carr for a hands-on workshop focused on learning to find and identify bugs in the garden. We’ll look at the different microhabitats where bugs can be found, how to collect them to get a closer look using nets and pots, and how to identify the broad groups. Do you know your beetles from your bugs? Your flies from your wasps? Your millipedes from your centipedes? Hopefully you will by the end of the session! We’ll also cover how to recognise some distinctive species, and talk about how we record data about invertebrate distribution across London and the UK more widely. Everyone is welcome – no prior experience required whatsoever!
